چکیده
Abstract Introduction. Esophageal cancer is one of the most aggressive visceral tumors with increasing frequency and poor prognosis. Differences in survival between patients same clinical tumor stage necessitate searching for additional prognostic markers to help identify at high risk recurrence, metastasis or death. The aim study was assess significance length on after esophageal resection operated a center surgery. Materials methods. This prospective cohort including 117 who had undergone surgical curative intent cancer. conducted First Surgical Clinic UMHATEM “N. I. Pirogov”, Sofia, Bulgaria. inclusion period 1st January 2013 31st December 2015 were followed – up until 10 April 2022. divided into two groups according under 3 cm (group 1) over 2). impact analyzed Cox regression analysis. Overall presented by Kaplan-Meier method log-rank tests. Results. 5-year rate 11.1%. Median 26.0 months (95% CI 18.3-33.7 months) first group 13.0 10.3-15.7 second patients. Tumor negative factor (HR 2.36 95% 1.06-5.25; p = 0,03). Conclusion. Length powerful independent predictor addition TNM stage.

متن کاملEsophageal dysmotility disorders after laparoscopic gastric banding--an underestimated complication.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) on esophageal dysfunction over the long term in a prospective study, based on a 12-year experience. BACKGROUND Esophageal motility disorders and dilatation after LAGB have been reported. However, only a few studies present long-term follow-up data. METHODS Between June 1998 and June 2009, all patients with i...

In a retrospective study, the results after resection of carcinoma of the gastric cardia in the era without neoadjuvant therapy or extended lymph node dissection were evaluated. All 184 patients who underwent resection between January 1983 and December 1993 were included. Recurrence of disease, survival and prognostic factors were determined. The overall cumulative 5-year recurrence rate was 71...
متن کاملImpact of tumor length on survival for patients with resected esophageal cancer.
BACKGROUND Tumor length in patients with esophageal cancer (EC) has recently received great attention. However, its prognostic role for EC is controversial. The purpose of our study was to characterize the prognostic value of tumor length in EC patients and offer the optimum cut-off point of tumor length by reliable statistical methods. MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective analysis was condu...
متن کاملEndoscopic resection for small esophageal submucosa tumor
Because an esophageal submucosa tumor (SMT) may be malignant despite its small size, a safe endoscopic resection method is needed in some small SMTs. Conventional endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) may be simple, but incomplete pathologic resection margin status is common. We aimed to investigate the clinical outcomes of 2 kinds of EMR techniques (conventional EMR and EMR with band ligation dev...
